During this time of year, we’re often asked, “Does your company replace wood rot?” The answer to that questions in yes, we do!
It’s spring and people are getting outside inspecting their homes and noticing the toll winter had taken on their homes. Wood rot happens to even the best houses around and it does not just happen to old homes. The only way to avoid wood rot completely is to not have any wood on your home. The most common areas to find wood rot are exterior trim, joints that may take longer to dry, and wood that is close to the ground, comes into contact with dirt, or concrete.
How do you spot wood rot? Look for areas that do not drain well, have cracked, peeling, or blistering paint, and wood that is darker in some areas. When you find these areas, probe them with the end of a screwdriver. If the end pushes through or it is mushy you most likely have rotten wood.
In most cases, we’ll replace the damaged wood with PVC boards that look just like the wood boards that are being replaced. The benefit is that PVC boards do not rot like wood, so you won’t have to worry about replacing those boards again!
If you think that there is some wood rot on your home, we can help you determine best solution to fix your problem. Give us a call to set up your free estimate at 703.629.6543 ext. 1 or on our website
