March Project Profile

Quality Interior Painting in Chantilly, VA

March Project Profile

Who doesn’t love a before-and-after project? And it’s even more interesting when it involves stripping floral wallpaper and applying a bold color in its place! That was part of a project we did recently for a homeowner in Vienna, VA. The results speak for themselves, especially in the kitchen.

Project:
We painted seven areas of her beautiful home. Since this was a job commissioned before March 15, the homeowner Gayle was able to benefit from our winter promotion of 10% off the cost.

The most dramatic change we undertook was the kitchen where we stripped some outdated floral wallpaper, and then skimmed, sanded, and primed the walls before painting them in a bold terra cotta color – a color that was designated in late 2018 by several paint companies as one of 2019’s designer colors. We also repainted the ceiling and wall, and window trims for a completely refreshed look.
Repairs:
In other parts of this bright home, we did some drywall repairs that included patching holes in ceilings or walls and then repainting those for a seamless look. Typically, we do two paint coats on touch-ups; otherwise, one coat might not disguise the repairs.

Paint:
In the lower level hallway and stairwell, we did two coats on the walls, ceiling, and trim to match the existing color. We also repainted the ceiling of the closets and laundry room.

In the living room, two coats of paint across walls, ceilings, and trim, also to match the existing color. Lastly, we caulked around the crown molding as needed.

We used Benjamin Moore throughout the home in Regal Select, in either matte or eggshell depending on the surface. Ceilings and closets got Waterborne or Super Hide Ceiling White in flat, while trim got Regal Select in semi-gloss.

Gayle’s paint project can give you an idea of what paints we typically use on a project, but we consider each project individually and use the corresponding materials. If you’d like us to take a look at your project, please contact our office. We’re always happy to come out and give you a no-obligation estimate.
