Where Has Mike Been?

2018 Painting and Decorating Expo

Where Has Mike Been?

School is in session several times a year for us. It’s not all work! To be the best painting contractors we can be for our clients, company founder and president Mike Katounas regularly participates in continuing education, training, and conferences. (Company employees also participate in monthly safety training.) All of these help us ensure that we are doing the best we can for all our key stakeholders: clients, employees and, of course, the company.

PDCA Expo – Galveston, Texas:

Last month, Mike attended the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA) Expo and conference in Galveston, Texas. The Expo provides an opportunity to learn about the latest industry trends, innovative business practices, technical training, and participate in round-table discussions and informal gatherings.

The Grand Summit – Savannah, Georgia:

Last week, Mike made his annual pilgrimage to the 2018 Grand Summit Conference held in Savannah, Georgia. The conference was an excellent opportunity to share, connect, and build relationships with painting/remodeling contractors from across the country and hear from industry experts. Mike most enjoys the interactions with other Summit members and learning from their best practices. This year’s topics included: Bridging the Skills Gap; Strategic Community Engagement; Training Systems, and Hiring Talent.

Conferences and training like the ones we will attend this month are an investment of time and treasure on behalf of our clients and company. It’s critical that we stay informed on the best industry practices and the latest changes.
