Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year 2025

Fall means a lot of things, but in the paint-color world, it means announcements for next year’s Color of the Year. Last week, Benjamin Moore released their 2025 Color Trends Palette, including their Color of the Year 2025. For folks in the design and paint world, it’s always exciting to learn what one of the most popular paint manufacturers has in store for the upcoming year.

Color Trends Palette

The trend toward earth tones continues, and they’re prevalent in Benjamin Moore’s palette. These 10 paint “hues exude warmth, comfort, and a sense of ease.” They reflect current home design trends and offer some forecasting. The colors are warm, muted, and organic. They can function well in any design style.

Color of the Year

The company describes its 2025 Color of the Year, Cinnamon Slate (2113-40), as a “delicate mix of heathered plum and velvety brown offers enduring style and a modern sensibility. And so it is! This brown has muted undertones of plum, pink, and possibly a touch of purple while remaining an elegant earth hue. It manages to be both a contemporary and classic look – at home in any design style.

Where to Use

You can use any of these colors in various spaces. Cinnamon Slate, for example, would look stunning in a study, living room, or bedroom. Consider color-drenching, which involves painting all surfaces—including trims and doors—in the same color. If you’re feeling adventurous, you might even paint the ceiling to match. This technique, known as color drenching, is becoming increasingly popular and can enhance a room’s design, giving it a professionally designed appearance.

Sea Salt could be used on cabinetry or walls on the Color Trends Palette for next year. Lather Saddle Brown would wrap a room in warmth and elegance. Try it in a study or powder room. For a feminine touch in a bedroom, use Tissue Pink. However, any color from the new palette could be used anywhere in your home.
