11 Apr Why We’ll Never Skip Taping – Why You Shouldn’t Either
To tape or not to tape! Painter’s tape is the unsung hero of every crisp, clean paint job. Yes, it’s an extra step when you’re painting. Still, it is the difference between a paint job that looks average or sloppy and one that looks professional and pristine. As skilled painting contractors, we never skip it—and we want to say why you shouldn’t either.
Taping protects the areas you don’t want to get paint on, such as the trim, baseboards, windows, outlets, and ceilings—anything or area you wish to remain paint-free. Even the steadiest hand can waver after a long day; tape is your safety net.
Taping creates razor-sharp lines that make all the difference to the appearance of the space. For a professionally finished look, painter’s tape is a must-have, must-use part of any painting project.
Be picky about what tape you use. Not all tape is created equal. There are different types of painter’s tape for various surfaces. We know what kind of tape to use and where —and how long to leave it on (yes, timing matters).
How you use the tape also matters. If the tape is not applied correctly, the paint finish will likely look sloppy because the paint can seep under the tape, causing blotchy edges! An experienced paint contractor will take the time to adhere it just right.
The bottom line? Taping takes time, but it saves time, too—no touch-ups, no do-overs, no regrets. It’s a small step that makes a big difference, and we’re not in the business of cutting corners.
So channel your inner pro the next time you’re tempted to skip the tape. Your walls will thank you! If you’d rather not deal with your project, give us at call. We’d be happy to tackle your project for you!
