Painting multiple rooms in a house is always enjoyable for us because we get to transform a home with paint! That’s just what we got to do recently for a family home in Annandale. Their home is our project profile this month. It’s a look at what we could do for your home. The scope of the work in this home was pretty involved, but the results speak for themselves, and the clients were pleased.
We used Sherwin Williams paint:
Interior walls: Duration Home, flat, matte, or satin
Ceilings: ProMar Ceiling White, flat
Trim/Doors: ProClassic, semi-gloss
Bathrooms: Use a satin or semi-gloss finish on the walls and ceiling
Here’s the work we did:
Master Bathroom: Paint ceiling (two coats), walls (two coats), trim/doors (one coat to match existing color). Includes removing border paper, repairing drywall, and priming walls.
Corner Bedroom: Paint ceiling (two coats), walls (two coats), trim/doors (one coat to match existing color). Includes removing wallpaper, repairing drywall, and priming walls
Upper-Level Hall Bathroom: Paint ceiling (two coats), walls (two coats), trim/doors (one coat to match existing color) Includes cleaning surface mold on the ceiling with bleach
Bedroom (Office): Paint ceiling (two coats), walls (two coats), trim/doors (one coat to match existing color)
Stairs/Hallway: Paint ceiling (two coats), trim & doors (one coat to match existing color)
Foyer: Paint ceiling (two coats), walls (two coats), trim/doors (one coat to match existing color)
Living Room: Paint ceiling (two coats), walls (two coats), trim & doors (one coat to match existing color) Includes fireplace
Dining Room: Paint ceiling (two coats), walls (two coats), trim/doors (one coat to match existing color)
The client asked us to provide separate estimates for the basement level and the stairwell and hallway, and, of course, we were happy to do that. Here’s what the work entailed:
Basement: Paint ceiling (2 coats), walls (2 coats), trim & doors (1 coat to match existing color) Includes bookshelves, fireplace (brick will NOT be painted)
Lower-Level Stairs: Paint ceiling (2 coats), walls (2 coats), trim/doors (1 coat to match existing color)
Stairway/Hallway: Paint walls (2 coats) Includes removing wallpaper, repairing drywall, and priming walls
We also did very carefully prepping of the rooms before we ever picked up a paintbrush. It’s a critical first step, or the integrity and quality of the paint are compromised.

FAQ
1.
A multiple room transformation usually includes repainting, updating finishes, and sometimes remodeling several rooms at once. This can cover kitchens, bathrooms, hallways, living spaces, and even stairways, aiming to modernize and refresh the overall look and feel of your home.
2.
Choosing the right colors is essential for achieving a cohesive look throughout your home. Many professional painting services offer complimentary color consultations where an interior designer helps you select shades that match your style, enhance natural light, and create the desired atmosphere in each room.
3.
The timeline depends on the number of rooms, the extent of the work, and the complexity of the finishes chosen. Generally, a transformation involving painting and minor updates in several rooms can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks. Larger remodels or custom work may extend the timeframe.
4.
Transforming multiple rooms together ensures a consistent design and color flow throughout the house. It can also be more cost-effective and less disruptive than tackling each room separately, as professionals can efficiently manage logistics and minimize downtime for your household.
5.
You can expect a professional team to provide a thorough consultation, detailed project planning, high-quality materials, and skilled workmanship. They handle everything from surface preparation and priming to the final touches, ensuring each room meets your expectations and enhances your home’s value and comfort.
